BASF plans to acquire a total of eight production bases of Solvay in Germany, France, China, India, South Korea, Brazil and Mexico. After the completion of the transaction, Solvay will have about 700 employees The staff will be transferred to BASF.


BASF and domer chemical plan to set up a joint venture in France to produce adipic acid. The proposed joint venture will employ about 650 employees.


BASF plans to integrate the acquired business into the monomer and characteristic materials business. After the acquisition, it will enrich the product portfolio of BASF's engineering plastics business, and further consolidate BASF's position as an innovative solution supplier in the transportation, construction and consumer goods industries.


Regionally, the acquisition will also help BASF to better enter important growth markets in Asia and South America, and promote close cooperation with local customers.
