Hydrofluoric acid is an aqueous solution of hydrogen fluoride gas. It is a colorless and transparent smoky liquid with a pungent smell. It is highly toxic and corrosive, and can strongly corrode metal, glass and objects containing silicon. Hydrofluoric acid is commonly used to etch glass, carving patterns, marking scales and words.

Matters needing attention:

1、Good ventilation is a must, with fume hood.

2、Goggles + face mask is also a must, it is much more harmful to the eyes than hydrochloric acid. Safety glasses with side shields are not enough, fully protective goggles must be used.

3、Gloves must be heavy rubber gloves. Single gloves are not reliable, at least double. If gloves are contaminated with HF, remove them immediately and wash hands thoroughly. Do not take them lightly. Contaminated gloves should not be thrown into the trash; they should be disposed of specially.

4、Work clothes should have a splash proof apron and be made of natural rubber, neoprene or fluorinated rubber.

5、Do not deal with HF alone. Do not eat, drink or smoke near it.

6、Once have an accident, after first aid also want to continue formal treatment! (Don't give up)
